Schedule Updates

Major construction on the Albany Avenue project begins in June/July 2017 and is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2019. For detailed bi-weekly schedule updates, please see below:

Week of 9/25/17 7am-3:30pm

Normal Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday
• Survey will continue on Albany Avenue from Homestead Avenue to Bedford Street. Survey will be identifying locations for decorative light and traffic controller foundations, drainage structures and new granite curbs.
• Installation of the drainage system will continue on the north side of Albany Avenue between Blue Hills Avenue and Woodland Street. Drainage work is also scheduled to continue on the Albany Avenue entrance road to the Bravo Plaza. This will involve alternating one-way traffic on the entrance roadway from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
• Installation of light pole foundations and temporary illumination will continue this week on Homestead Avenue.
• Eversource and Charter Oak Utilities will perform utility work on the northeast corner of Albany Avenue and Woodland Street.
• Installation of the new granite curb on the east side of Homestead Avenue is anticipated to begin this week.

Week of 9/18/17 7am-3:30pm

Normal Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday
• Survey will continue on Albany Avenue from Homestead Avenue to Bedford Street. Survey will be identifying locations for decorative light and traffic controller foundations, drainage structures and new granite curbs.
• Saw cutting of the roadway, for the installation of drainage structures, will continue on the north side of Albany Avenue between Blue Hills Avenue and Woodland Street.
• Installation of the drainage system will continue on the north side of Albany Avenue between Blue Hills Avenue and Woodland Street. Drainage work is also scheduled to commence at the Albany Avenue entrance road to the Bravo Plaza. This will involve alternating one-way traffic on the entrance roadway from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

• Saw cutting of the roadway, for the installation of drainage structures and removal of existing granite curb, will continue on the north and south sides of Albany Avenue.
• Installation of the drainage system will continue on Albany Avenue and all side roads from Westbourne Parkway to Woodland Street.
• Installation of the light pole foundations and light poles is anticipated to commence this week on Homestead Avenue.

Week of 09/04/17 (normal work hours 7:00am – 5:00pm)

• Monday NO WORK – HOLIDAY
Tuesday thru Friday*
• Continuing roadway drainage on Albany Avenue and Blue Hills Avenue From Blue Hills Avenue to Woodland Street.
• Alternating one-way traffic on the Albany Avenue Entrance to Bravo Plaza and McDonald’s during drainage work.
• Lane closures and minor delays to traffic throughout the work period hours.
• Hartford Police to assist with traffic control.

Week of 8/28/17 7am-5pm

Allowable Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday
• Survey will continue this week on Albany Avenue from Homestead Avenue to Bedford Street, to identify locations for decorative light and traffic controller foundations, drainage structures and new granite curbs.
• Saw cutting of the roadway, for the installation of drainage structures and removal of existing granite curb, will continue on the north and south sides of Albany Avenue from Adams Street to Woodland Street.
• Installation of the drainage system will continue on Albany Avenue and all side roads from Westbourne Parkway to Woodland Street.
• Installation of the new granite curbs, sidewalks and brick pavers is anticipated to continue on Homestead Avenue.

Week of 8/21/17 7am-5pm

Allowable Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday
• Test pits will be excavated to identify utilities in preparation for mast arm foundation and drainage structure installations.
• Survey will continue this week on Albany Avenue from Homestead Avenue to Bedford Street, to identify locations for decorative light and traffic controller foundations, drainage structures and new granite curbs.
• Saw cutting of the roadway, for the installation of drainage structures and removal of existing granite curb, will continue on Woodland Street as well as the north and south sides of Albany Avenue from Adams Street to Woodland Street.
• Installation of the drainage system will continue on Albany Avenue and all side roads from Westbourne Parkway to Woodland Street.
• Drainage work has progressed enough, so that the installation of the new granite curbs, sidewalks and brick pavers can commence. This work is the first step in the beautification of the Albany Avenue neighborhood, and is anticipated to commence August 23rd on Homestead Avenue.

Week of 8/14/17 7am-3:30pm

• Survey will continue this week, on Albany Avenue from Homestead Avenue to Bedford Street. This work includes layout of the drainage system, decorative light foundations, traffic controller foundations, granite curb, sidewalk and pavers.
• Installation of the drainage system will continue on the north side of Albany Avenue and on Westbourne Parkway.
• Preparation for the road widening and sidewalk installation on northbound Homestead Avenue will commence.

Week of 8/7/17 7am-3:30pm

• Survey will continue this week, on Albany Avenue from Homestead Avenue to Bedford Street. This work includes layout of the drainage system, decorative light foundations and traffic controller foundations.
• Saw cutting of the existing roadway, for the installation of drainage structures and removal of granite curb, will continue on the north side of Albany Avenue from Westbourne Parkway to Blue Hills Avenue.
• Installation of the drainage system will continue on the south side of Albany Avenue and on Homestead Avenue.

Week of 7/31/17 7am-3:30pm

• Surveying continues.
• Excavation to identify utilities continues.
• Installation of drainage system continues.
• Tree removal continues.

Week of 7/24/17 7am-3:30pm

• Surveying continues.
• Excavation to identify utilities continues.
• Saw-cutting of roadway and sidewalk continues on north side of Albany Avenue.
• Installation of drainage system continues.
