Schedule Updates

Major construction on the Albany Avenue project begins in June/July 2017 and is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2019. For detailed bi-weekly schedule updates, please see below:

Schedule: Week of November 20, 2017*

Normal Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday

• Drainage work will continue on both sides of Albany Avenue east of Sigourney Street.
• Installation of conduit will occur across the intersection of Albany Avenue and Homestead Avenue.
• Granite curb installation will continue on the west side of Homestead Avenue.
• Construction of new concrete sidewalk will continue on the south side of Albany Avenue west of Homestead Avenue.
• Installation of full-depth roadway patches will continue between Homestead Avenue and Bedford Street.

• The contractor has tentatively scheduled catch basin silt sack insert removal and catch basin parging (repairs) for Wednesday (11/22) with normal work hours of 7:00am-5:00pm.
• There will be no construction work this Thursday (11/23) or Friday (11/24).
• Normal work hours will resume next Monday (11/27) at 7:00am.

Schedule: Week of November 13, 2017*

Normal Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday

• Roadway paving, for the widening of the roadway, will occur on the east side of Homestead Avenue.
• Drainage work will continue on both sides of Albany Avenue east of Sigourney Street.
• Installation of conduit will occur across the intersection of Albany Avenue and Homestead Avenue.
• Granite curb installation will continue on the west side of Westbourne Parkway/Homestead Avenue and on the south side of Albany Avenue west of Homestead Avenue.
• Construction of new concrete driveway ramps and sidewalk will continue on the east side of Homestead Avenue and on the south side of Albany Avenue between Homestead Avenue and Baltimore Street.
• Installation of full-depth roadway patches is scheduled to begin between Homestead Avenue and Bedford Street.
• Utility Work Scheduled: Eversource (Blue Hills Avenue), CNG (Sterling Street) and Comcast (Albany Avenue west of Baltimore Street).

Week of November 6, 2017

Normal Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday

  • Survey will continue on Albany Avenue between Homestead Avenue and Bedford Street to identify locations for drainage structures and granite curb.
  • Drainage work will continue on both sides of Albany Avenue east of Oakland Terrace.
  • Installation of light pole foundations, conduit, and temporary illumination will occur on Homestead Avenue, Westbourne Parkway, and on the south side of Albany Avenue, west of Homestead Avenue.
  • Granite curb installation will continue on Homestead Avenue and will continue on the south side of Albany Avenue, west of Homestead Avenue.
  • Eversource is scheduled to perform utility work on Blue Hills Avenue.

• Installation of the drainage system will continue on both sides of Albany Avenue east of Woodland Street.
• Installation of light pole foundations and conduit will continue this week on the west side of Westbourne Parkway. Temporary illumination installation will continue on the east side of Homestead Avenue.
• Eversource and Charter Oak are scheduled to perform utility work on Blue Hills Avenue.

• Installation of light pole foundations, conduit, and temporary illumination will continue on the east side of Homestead Avenue.
• Saw cutting of the roadway, for the installation of drainage structures, will continue on both sides of Albany Avenue between Blue Hills Avenue and Oakland Terrace.
• Eversource continues work on Woodland Avenue.

Week of 9/25/17 7am-3:30pm

Normal Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday
• Survey will continue on Albany Avenue from Homestead Avenue to Bedford Street. Survey will be identifying locations for decorative light and traffic controller foundations, drainage structures and new granite curbs.
• Installation of the drainage system will continue on the north side of Albany Avenue between Blue Hills Avenue and Woodland Street. Drainage work is also scheduled to continue on the Albany Avenue entrance road to the Bravo Plaza. This will involve alternating one-way traffic on the entrance roadway from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
• Installation of light pole foundations and temporary illumination will continue this week on Homestead Avenue.
• Eversource and Charter Oak Utilities will perform utility work on the northeast corner of Albany Avenue and Woodland Street.
• Installation of the new granite curb on the east side of Homestead Avenue is anticipated to begin this week.

Week of 9/18/17 7am-3:30pm

Normal Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday
• Survey will continue on Albany Avenue from Homestead Avenue to Bedford Street. Survey will be identifying locations for decorative light and traffic controller foundations, drainage structures and new granite curbs.
• Saw cutting of the roadway, for the installation of drainage structures, will continue on the north side of Albany Avenue between Blue Hills Avenue and Woodland Street.
• Installation of the drainage system will continue on the north side of Albany Avenue between Blue Hills Avenue and Woodland Street. Drainage work is also scheduled to commence at the Albany Avenue entrance road to the Bravo Plaza. This will involve alternating one-way traffic on the entrance roadway from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
