Schedule Updates

Major construction on the Albany Avenue project began in June 2017 and is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2019. All travel lanes on Albany Ave. will remain open before 9am and after 3pm. During other hours, partial lane closures may occur. Traffic will be maintained in both directions on Homestead/Westbourne. Hartford Police will be on hand to assist motorists. Week of September 24, 2018

Normal Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday

  • Installation of lighting and conduit will occur on the northwest corner of Woodland. Installation of electrical wires will be ongoing throughout the project area.
  • Installation of concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons continues on the north side of Albany between Baltimore and Adams and also on the south side of Albany between Sterling & Cabot.
  • Installation of brick pavers continues on the south side of Albany between Sterling and Cabot.
  • Electrical work will occur across Albany near Kent and also near Woodland.
  • Drainage work will continue on the north side of Albany near Blue Hills.

Week of September 17, 2018

Normal Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday

  • Demolition of existing curb/sidewalks will continue on the south side of Albany between Sterling and Cabot.
  • Installation of granite curb will occur on the northwest side of Albany and Woodland (near Artists Collective).
  • Installation of lighting and conduit will occur on the south side of Albany between Sterling and Cabot. Installation of electrical wires will be ongoing throughout the project area.

  • Installation of brick pavers continues on the south side of Albany between Oakland and Sterling.

  • Installation of concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons continues on south side of Albany between Oakland and Cabot.
  • Installation of brick pavers continues on the south side of Albany between Oakland and Cabot.
  • Drainage work will occur on the north side of Albany and Blue Hills.

  • Drainage work will occur on the north side of Albany and Woodland.

  • Installation of granite curb continues on the south side of Albany between Oakland and Sterling.
  • Installation of lighting and conduit will occur on the south side of Albany between Oakland and Sterling.
  • Traffic signal foundation work will occur at the intersection of Albany and Oakland.
  • Installation of temporary traffic signals will continue at the Bravo Entrance on Woodland Street.
  • Installation of concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons continues on the north side of Albany between Baltimore and Blue Hills.
  • Drainage work will occur within the intersection and also on the northwest corner of Albany and Woodland (in front of the Artists Collective). Partial lane closures may occur.

Week of August 6, 2018

  • Demolition of existing curb/sidewalks will occur on the south side of Albany from Sterling to Edgewood.
  • Installation of granite curb continues on the north side of Albany between Baltimore and Adams.
  • Installation of lighting and conduit will occur on the north side of Albany between Kent and Adams.
  • Installation of concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons continues on the north side of Albany between Baltimore and Adams.
  • Paving of the Bravo Entrance on Woodland Street will occur this week.

Week of July 30, 2018

    • Demolition of existing curb/sidewalks will continue on the south side of Albany from Oakland to Sterling.
    • Installation of granite curb continues on the north side of Albany between Baltimore and Blue Hills.
    • Electrical work/conduit installation will occur on Westbourne.
    • Traffic signal foundation work will occur at the intersections of Albany and Sterling and also at Albany and Edgewood.
    • Installation of temporary traffic signals will occur at the Bravo Plaza Woodland entrance.
    • Installation of new concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons continues on the north side of Albany between Westbourne and Baltimore.
    • Brick paver installation continues, west of Westbourne, near the Albany entrance to the UHart Handel Performing Arts Center.
    • Preliminary work is scheduled to occur on the lot at 992 Albany.

 

Week of July 23, 2018

Normal Work Hours: 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday

  • Demolition of existing curb/sidewalks will occur on the north side of Albany from Blue Hills to Adams and also on the south side of Albany from Oakland to Sterling.
  • Installation of granite curb continues on the north side of Albany from Baltimore to Adams.
  • Installation of light pole foundations, conduit, and temporary lighting will occur on the north side of Albany between Baltimore and Kent.
  • Traffic signal foundation work will occur at the intersection of Albany and Oakland.
  • Installation of temporary traffic signals will occur at the Bravo Plaza Albany entrance and Blue Hills.
  • Installation of new concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons continues on the south side of Albany between Woodland and Oakland and also on the north side of Albany between Westbourne and Baltimore.
  • Brick paver installation continues on the east side of Woodland (south of Albany) and will begin, west of Westbourne, near the Albany entrance to the UHart Handel Performing Arts Center.
